The children of Mars are missing out on the joys of childhood, so the Martian leaders hatch a plot to kidnap Santa Claus and bring him to their planet. Landing on Earth, the alien crew and their robot encounter plucky Earth kids, angry elves, and even a polar bear as they make their way to Santa’s workshop at the North Pole.
A tongue-in-cheek adaptation of “The Worst Christmas Movie Ever” (Fandango.com), the script by playwright Andi Allen was first produced at Level Ground Arts in Dallas, Texas, in December 2010. The Misfit Boy production features additional dialogue by directors David Moon and Graham David. Santa Claus Conquers the Martians! is a campy, fast-paced romp through B-movie hilarity, with nods to Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, the Three Stooges, and even Mommie Dearest along the way.
